Lamont Holiday Homes in Glenelg provide cottage accommodation in 5 high quality chalets and one bungalow. The chalets are just nine miles from the main route to the Isle of Skye and a few minutes to the Skye Ferry. Glenelg lies on the shores of the Sound of Sleat surrounded by scenery magnificent even by West Highland standards. The glen has preserved its unspoilt beauty and sense of isolation, yet remains within easy reach of the more well-known centres of attraction in the area.

There is something for everyone. Munro-baggers have plenty of scope; several of the surrounding peaks exceed 3,000 feet, while there are any number of easier walks with exhilarating views for the less ambitious. Local boats can be hired for sea fishing or sightseeing. There is a wide sandy beach. Wildlife is plentiful: golden eagles, sea eagles and many of the rarer bird species, red deer and pine martens frequent the area. Dolphins, porpoises, and even the occasional whale pass through the clearest of waters; there is a local seal colony and, perhaps most famous of all Glenelg's wildlife, otters. This is where Gavin Maxwell lived and wrote his books, including 'Ring of Bright Water". The site of his home at Sandaig is one of the most beautiful locations in the area, and there is an otter hide across the water at Kylerhea on Skye.
